Unlimited plans traffic shaping rules

Unlim-web 600

This plan is designed specifically for web-surfing, chats or IM. Unlim-web 600 cannot be used for huge downloads and there is no constant bandwidth guaranteed. The graph below shows how bandwidth changes when a big download is going through:

During the first five minutes user gets full available bandwidth shared between users on the same tariff plan. Then our shaper* checks how much bandwidth is used by download and if it is more than 45 %, speed gets reduced 2.5 times for the next 10 minutes. After 10 minutes there's another check and if there's more than 40% of bandwidth used by the constant download, speed gets reduced two times more for the next 15 minutes. If the download is continued bandwidth gets reduced the same way until it gets to the 32 Kbps which is minumum possible for normal SlonAx 3G operartion. So even if bandwidth is not guaranteed on Unlim-web 600, it never gets lower than 32 Kbps.

If you use this plan solely for surfing, chats and IM excluding huge downloads the bandwidth load graph looks like this:

Web pages will load with speed close to maximum available, however if a web-page has a lot of media-content like Flash, sounds or video, our shaper will decrease the bandwidth according to abovementioned rules.

Unlim-home 512

Graph below shows how bandwidth changes when a constant download is happening during 24 period:

During the first ten minutes after a download starts user gets full available bandwidth shared between users on the same tariff plan. After 10 minutes our shaper checks how much bandwidth is used by a download and if there is more than 20% used the bandwidth slowly gets reduced by 1.5 times. Then shaper checks the bandwidth during next 15 minutes and if the constant download is still performed the bandwidth slowly gets reduced to 32 Kbps until it gets to the 32 Kbps which is minumum possible for normal SlonAx 3G operartion. After that the bandwidth gets "bumped" up to currently available. Speed reduction is repeated as described above if there is a constant download going through. If a download is interrupted for 30 minutes a maximum bandwidth is available again during the first ten minutes then it gets shaped aging according to above mentioned scheme.

The graph above shows that median bandwidth is approximately 100 Kbps (note that median bandwidth varies and depends on overall bandwidth usage). Let's calculate how much can be downloaded for $25/month when median bandwidth is 100 Kbps and a constant 24/7 download is performed: 100 Kbps /8 = 12.5 KBps * 3600 = 45000 KB per hour / 1024 = 43.9 MB per hour * 24 hours = 1054.6 MB per day / 1024 = 1.02 GB per day * 30 days = 30.6 GB per month.

So you can download up to 30 GB for only $25 per month!

If there's a constant download performed less than 25 minutes during 1 hour bandwidth graph looks like this:

ОOther plans from Unlim-home group have bandwidth speed the same way. The only difference between those is median bandwidth. Plans with larger median bandwidth are priced accordingly. Price difference between Unlim-home plans is proportional to the amount of traffic that can be consumed during the month and maximum median bandwidth of the plan.

Please note that special network software intended to cheat the shaper will barely work because our shaper has cheat-proof mechanism built in.

* Traffic shaper is the software or hardware solution used control of computer network traffic in order to optimize or guarantee performance, improve latency, and/or increase usable bandwidth for some kinds of packets by delaying other kinds of packets that meet certain criteria.
